Bzz Post is a student-run news site covering Boston — campus life, the city, and everything in between. This page explains what little data we collect, why, and how you’re in control of it.
Who We Are
Bzz Post is a Boston-based student news publication. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, reach out any time at hello@bzzpost.com.
What Data We Collect
We collect your email address, and only if you choose to sign up for our newsletter. That’s it — we don’t collect names, phone numbers, browsing history, or any other personal information.
How We Use It
Your email address is used for one purpose only: sending you the Bzz Post newsletter. We never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. The only cookies set on this site are technical ones required for it to work properly:
- A WordPress session cookie, used only if you’re logged in as a site administrator or contributor.
- Security cookies set by Wordfence, our security plugin, to help protect the site from spam and malicious activity.
We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.
Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of trusted providers to keep Bzz Post running:
- Mailchimp — handles delivery of our newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored with Mailchimp for this purpose. You can read Mailchimp’s privacy policy for details on how they handle data.
- DreamHost — our web hosting provider, which stores the site’s files and data on its servers.
Your Rights
You’re always in control of your email subscription:
- Unsubscribe anytime — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
- Request deletion — want your email address removed from our records entirely? Email us at hello@bzzpost.com and we’ll take care of it.
Questions?
If anything here is unclear, or you just want to ask us something directly, email hello@bzzpost.com — we’re happy to help.
