The North End is busy this weekend, and parking is even more of a side quest than usual.
The 116th Fisherman’s Feast runs through Sunday, August 16, bringing food, entertainment and processions to the neighborhood.
The City of Boston has temporary parking restrictions in place on sections of Lewis, Fleet, North, Fulton, Clark, Sun Court and Moon streets while the feast is underway.
Sunday will bring another round of traffic changes. The feast’s Grand Procession starts at 12:30 p.m., and the City says road closures will be in place along the procession route.
Translation: driving directly into the middle of the North End is probably not your smartest weekend move.
The Orange Line is one of the cleaner options. Get off at Haymarket or North Station and walk in. Just keep in mind that major sections of the Green Line are shut down through Sunday, August 16, so check current MBTA service alerts before heading out.
If you already live in the neighborhood and park on the street, check the temporary signs before assuming your usual spot is available.
And yes, “I was only there for like 20 minutes” does not override a posted parking restriction.
One more heads-up: feast organizers say there are security checkpoints at the entrances, and backpacks and open containers are not allowed.
The feast runs through Sunday, August 16. Transportation and parking information was checked on August 14, 2026.
