An 8 a.m. class is already disrespectful.

Doing it without coffee feels personal.

For BU students, Pavement Coffeehouse at 736 Commonwealth Ave. opens at 7 a.m. every day. Its Berklee location at 1096 Boylston Street also opens at 7 daily, while the Harvard Square café opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends.

MIT students have Tatte at 101 Main St. in Kendall Square, just steps from campus. It opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday.

The useful part isn’t another “best coffee shops in Boston” list.

It’s knowing which place is actually open when you’re half-awake, late to class and wondering why you chose a morning section.

That’s what Bzzpost’s Coffee Runs will track:

Opening time. Campus. Wi-Fi. Food. Closing time.

Wi-Fi and other café amenities will only be included when they’re confirmed by the business or independently checked by Bzzpost.

Because a beautiful café that opens at 9 is completely useless when your professor starts talking at 8:02.

Opening hours were checked on August 17, 2026 and can change. Check the café’s current hours before heading out.
