Fisherman’s Feast takes over part of the North End through Sunday with food, processions and free entertainment throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, the 16th Annual African Festival of Boston hits Boston Common starting at 9 a.m., with music, dance, food, fashion and cultural programming. Admission is free.
Also Saturday: it’s the final official day of the summer edition of Dine Out Boston, with prix-fixe menus at participating restaurants around the city. Participation varies by restaurant, so check the individual listing before making plans.
Sunday brings the Dominican Parade through Jamaica Plain toward Franklin Park. The organizer lists an 11 a.m. start, while the City of Boston’s traffic advisory lists noon, so check the latest organizer update before heading over. The parade is free to watch.
And if you’re looking for something completely different, Boston Lights returns to Franklin Park Zoo Friday with its nighttime lantern experience. It’s open Friday and Saturday this weekend, but closed Sunday, August 16. Tickets are required.
